Mansuscrits relatifs aux fables de La Fontaine et de Florian traduits et adaptés du français au basque labourdin par Martin Goyhetche (1791-1859)

The n°162 and n°163 of the Celtic & Basque Funds (FCB) of the Department of the manuscripts of the National Library conceal very interesting and however unexploited documents: various preparatory drafts of the Fables of La Fontaine selected, translated, adapted out of Basque labourdin, then laid out in six chapters by Martin Goyhetche for a publication which took place in 1852, as well as a seventh complementary chapter whose existence was unknown; a second corpus announced like "lack" by Pierre Lafitte since 1941 is added to it: the preparatory manuscript of the translation-adaptation out of Basque labourdin of the Fables of Florian of which also various former drafts are added.
This article offers to the reader a first impression extent of the work of translation and adaptation carried out by Martin Goyhetche. It makes it possible to outline a first bio-bibliographical approach which will have to be supplemented by later research.

Les n°162 et n°163 du Fonds Celtique & Basque (FCB) du Département des manuscrits de la Bibliothèque nationale recèlent des documents très intéressants et cependant inexploités : les divers brouillons préparatoires des Fables de La Fontaine sélectionnées, traduites, adaptées en basque labourdin, puis disposées en six chapitres par Martin Goyhetche en vue d'une publication qui eut lieu en 1852, ainsi qu'un septième chapitre complémentaire dont l'existence était inconnue; s'y ajoute un deuxième corpus signalé comme « manquant » par Pierre Lafitte dès 1941 : le manuscrit préparatoire de la traduction-adaptation en basque labourdin des Fables de Florian auquel sont adjoints également divers brouillons antérieurs.
Cet article offre au lecteur un avant-goût de l'ampleur du travail de traduction et d'adaptation mené par Martin Goyhetche. Il permet d'esquisser une première approche bio-bibliographique qui devra être complétée par des recherches ultérieures.
