Batua eta zuberera : Euskalki baten dinamika

Abstract : In this conference we examine the current situation of the Basque Souletine dialect, in 2004. The structure of the language and its sociolinguistic situation are presented, i.e. the knowledge and use which is made of it. With regard to the latter point, it is especially children from 2 to 16 years, who follow obligatory teaching, who are of interest.
This dialect is increasingly threatened and it is thus interesting to note some of the characteristics of the dialect, and the influence of the other forms of Basque (in particular today that of standard Basque and Navarro-Labourdin dialect) and of French, since all Bascophones are bilingual. Finally, one tries to discern the future prospects of the Souletine dialect.
