Zubereraren idazkeraz : ortografia, fonetika eta fonologia

Abstract : In this article the relationships between the spelling used by the Academy of the Basque language for standard Basque (Batua) which is currently applied to the Basque Souletine dialect and the phonology and phonetics of this dialect are discussed. The correspondences between the graphic characters selected and the sounds and phonemes are updated. This reveals that some adjustments could be made in order to make this spelling closer to the phonology of the dialect. In practice, this would facilitate the learning of the Souletine dialect which is less and less transmitted orally in families, and could make it possible to preserve some of its oral characteristics. In the symbolic system plan a more specific spelling system would be proof of increased recognition of the dialect, keeping in mind that a spelling is never completely phonetic or phonological and that, in addition, the Souletine dialect, like the other Basque dialects, tends to approach standard Basque.
