Petit dictionnaire raisonné des Noms de Localisation Interne du basque
Abstract
This paper tries to characterize the spatial configurations which can be described by means of the most important Internal Localization Nouns (ILNs) of Basque. On the basis of the assumption according to which ILNs derive from component nouns, several suggestions are made concerning the origin of these markers. More generally, this work attempts to clarify the functioning of several fundamental concepts of linguistic and cognitive space related to the domains of orientation, topology and distance.
