New dates for the history of Basque in Alava and Navarra: The doctrine from Eulate (18th-19th centuries)

Résumé
In this work, I study a recently appeared 18th-19th-century Basque text from Higher Amescoa. It is a unique testimony of the lost variety spoken there. I describe the document, and I show who wrote it and when. I also transcribe and edit the text. In the linguistic analysis, I compare it with the historical text corpus from the surrounding varieties. I conclude that Basque was still alive in Eulate at that time, and that such variety was linguistically related to western and the bordering Alavese Basque.
En este trabajo trato un texto euskérico de Améscoa Alta del siglo XVIII-XIX, recientemente hallado. Es uno de los pocos testimonios del euskera hablado allí, hoy desaparecido. He descrito el documento y resuelto quién y cuándo lo escribió. Para realizar el análisis lingüístico, he tomado como referencia el corpus textual histórico de las hablas circundantes. He llegado a la conclusión de que en aquel entonces, el euskera estaba vivo en Eulate y que, en lo lingüístico, miraba al oeste y al territorio limítrofe de Álava.
Lan honetan berriki agertu den XVIII-XIX. mendeko Ameskoagoieneko euskal testu bat dut hizpide. Hango mintzo galduaren testigantza bakana dugu hau. Dokumentua deskribatu, eta noizkoa eta norena den argitu dut, baita testuaren transkripzioa eta edizioa egin ere.
Hizkuntza-azterketa egiteko, inguruko hizkeretako testu-corpus historikoa hartu dut erkagai. Ondorioztatu dut Eulaten euskara bizirik zegoela orduan, eta hizkera linguistikoki mendebaldera eta mugakide duen Arabara begira egon dela.
Ce travail concerne un texte basque de la Haute Amescoa, qui date des XVIIIe-XIXe siècles, et trouvé récemment. Il s’agit-là d’un des rares témoignages du basque parlé là-bas et désormais disparu. J’ai réalisé un descriptif du document et trouvé qui l’a écrit et de quand il date. Pour effectuer son analyse linguistique, j’ai pris comme référence le corpus historique des parlers avoisinants. Je suis arrivé à la conclusion qu’à cette époque le basque était parlé à Eulate et que la varieté linguistique était orientée vers l’ouest et vers le territoire limitrophe d'Alava.
