Euskararen presentzia unibertsitate-mailan Iparraldean (The presence of Basque on a university level in the Northern Basque Country)

This article starts with two comments. Firstly, the [French-administered] Northern Basque Country does not have its own university; secondly, outside the inter-university department known as "Euskal Ikasketak" (Basque Studies) the Basque language has a very small place. In other words the Basque Studies department is, in the whole, the main hub for the presence of Basque on a university level. In this context, worthy of mention is the Iker Research Center linked to the Basque Studies Department. It is the only advanced scientific research center in France that specialises in the Basque language and Basque texts. The author also examines the presence of Basque in other university departments.
